Fundraiser Alert: Matheny Medical and Educational Center is excited to announce that the 14th Annual Miles for Matheny will be held Sunday, April 17, 2011, and will be returning for a second year at Natirar Park! All activities - the start of the cycling routes, the 5K run, kids fun run, and the Lu Huggins Wheelchair Walk - will begin in the 411-acre Somerset County Park Commission property, which encompasses Peapack-Gladstone, Far Hills and Bedminster. Celebrating Over 25 Years

Organized by a small group of volunteers in 1983, The Friends of Matheny have raised over $2,250,000 under the direction of a dedicated Board of Directors. Our mission is to aid in the support of and render services to the Matheny Medical and Educational Center.

The Matheny Medical and Educational Center in Peapack, NJ is a nationally recognized institution that addresses the needs of children & adults with developmental disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, & Lesch-Nyhan disease. Matheny provides a complete range of educational & therapeutic services to allow their residents to achieve the highest independence level & quality of life.

Additionally, Matheny provides supervised housing for young adults in group homes in the surrounding communities and operates a day facility for adults in Hillsborough, NJ. The Matheny Center of Medicine and Dentistry, located on the grounds of Matheny, is a premier facility serving the needs of disabled individuals in NJ.

Our student group, Junior Friends of Matheny, consists of students from Bernards & Basking Ridge High Schools highly devoted to helping Friends of Matheny, while teaching an acceptance of those with disabilities. Click here to visit their website.
